We are Team Dry Ice, the 2012 UCSD SWE Team Tech! Meet our members.
Project Manager - Aylin Aykol
Aylin is a 3rd year Computer Science major from San Diego. She looks forward to automating the machine and ensuring that the LifeTech employees' daily operations are ergonomic. She finds this particularly rewarding since she has been working with a multi-disciplinary engineering team. Her role is to ensure communication among the stakeholders and make sure the project is built properly from start to finish. She is adamant to meet the project scopes and launch the final product to Life Technologies. On her spare time she invests time as VP Internal of Society of Women Engineers at UCSD managing the mentor mentee program, which she created in 2010.
Project Manager - Celine Liong
Celine is a second year Nano-engineer from the Bay Area who is interested in applying nanotechnology to bioengineering and medicine. Specific fields of interest include nanomotor diffusion, targeted medicine delivery, and biosensors. In her free time. she enjoys baking and playing badminton. Celine enjoys working with the team and hopes to gain experience before working in industry.
Mechanical Design Engineer - Marina Fernandez
Marina is a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering major from Riverside Country with an interest in Solid & Fluid Mechanics, and Design & Manufacturing. From a young age, she has enjoyed building things and loves learning new skills (currently tackling contemporary dance) and hopes to go to graduate school to do research on plasticity and elasticity. After grad school, she hopes to become a mechanical designer.
Mechanical Design Engineer - Solomon Li
Solomon is a 4th year Bioengineering major from the Bay Area who loves working hands-on and designing. He hopes to get his masters in either Bioengineering or Mechanical Engineering, or work in industry after he graduates. Aside from schoolwork, he enjoys paddling for the UCSD DragonBoat Team and watching episodes of SharkTank.
Computer Systems Engineer - Jose Flores
Jose is a third year Computer Engineering major from Los Angeles. He is currently a member of UCSD SHPE, IEEE, and TeamTech. He enioys the TeamTech project since he has the ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team. He enjoys learning what it is like working in a team environment on an industry project.
Research and Development Engineer - Catherine Tan
Catherine is a 1st year Bioengineering: Bioinformatics from Lancaster, California. She is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at the UCSD, but plans to enter the field of genomic sequencing in order to refine and develop personalized medicine. She aspired to be a member of UCSD's Team Tech in order to gain experience with engineering skills and processes.
